7月22日消息，雅虎周表示计划对其互联网主页进行重大改革。该公司正在努力使自己在网上冲浪方面更有作为，并在广告销售方面不断创新。
雅虎称，新的主页混合了雅虎在线收集内容，以及像Facebook、Twitter那样的流行社交网络服务。雅虎官方网站称，此次改革是其问世十多年以来最激进的一次行动。
雅虎高级副总裁Tapan Bhat在一次电话会议中称：“我们对产品、用户，及业务的想法发生了巨大的改变。”
有调查显示，雅虎的主页是访问量最大的网页之一，也是该公司最有价值的资产。今年6月份，该公司的主页在美国已有超过一亿的访问者，而5月份其在全球已拥有3.3亿的访问者。
新雅虎主页比现有版本更整洁，较少展示了雅虎的产品和服务。网页的左侧将新增一个工具栏，允许用户随意切换至第三方网站，如今日美国（USA Today）、Facebook以及雅虎网站的预览内容。
同时，雅虎还将进行广告的出售和应用程序的预览。
目前，新主页可在访问www.yahoo.com时，点击“Try it now！”即可。未来一周，法国、印度、英国的本地化版将可用，最终在下月完成其他版市场的版本更换。
